About The Mad River Food Hub

More and more people are taking a hard look at our national food system and realizing a need for change.  Our goal at the Mad River Food hub is to educate, support, and promote those entrepreneurs who look to make a difference by creating their own products.

What we do 

The Mad River Food Hub offers USDA processing space rental, training in butchery, food safety, and small business financial management, and storage and logistical support.  

We provide the necessary help that new and emerging businesses need to overcome the barriers to entry into the local food marketplace.

The food hub was created specifically to facilitate solutions for local small businesses - from trucking cheese to an aging cave for finishing, to teaching a farmer how to make sausages out of their own pasture raised pork.

Organic and sustainably grown vegetables, fruits, meats and eggs are the cornerstone of the Waitsfield Farmers' Market.
